About Seamus
Seamus was raised in Watertown, South Dakota in a home that often revolved around his parents’ community service and advocacy for injured clients of his mother’s law practice. Standing up to bullies and speaking up for fairness became second nature.
He graduated from Watertown High School and graduated from South Dakota State University before venturing to Vermilion to earn a law degree. He found learning on the run most helpful, so during law school, he worked for various lawyers around South Dakota willing to help him learn the ropes of effective advocacy. After graduating from USD School of Law, he returned to Watertown where he joined his mother Nancy at Turbak Law Office, P.C.
Seamus stands up for those who aren’t getting a fair shake. He’s especially interested in advocating for those who are being mistreated by big insurance companies, particularly elderly people struggling to get benefits of long-term care insurance they paid premiums for over decades of living. He’s rapidly developing a practice in that area and has learned from nationally recognized experts in that field.
When Seamus isn’t working, he’s most likely hunting, fishing, gardening, handling mules and horses, or working with his small herd of beef cattle. If you stop by the office, you won’t find Seamus in a suit and tie. He may have come directly from a duck blind or tree stand or may be hoping to head out early with his dogs. He also doesn’t believe in getting good clothes dirty. He’s not afraid of a challenge or getting his hands dirty. If there’s a dirty pickup parked at of the office, feel free to stop in, because Seamus is in.
